ENGINEERING FELLOWSHIP
Learn by building. Get paid to grow.
The Makkan Engineering Fellowship is a 12-week, hands-on apprenticeship for early-career engineers and QA talent. No lectures, no certificates. Just real production work, a dedicated mentor, and a clear path forward.
What it is
Four fellows per cohort. Each one paired 1:1 with a Makkan engineer as a mentor, working on real internal and client-facing projects, not simulations. You'll spend your time split between structured learning, supervised production work, and regular feedback, with the whole cohort coming together every 3 weeks to connect, share, and learn from each other.
What you'll do
- •Work on 1–2 internal projects and 1 external/client-facing project alongside the Makkan team
- •Get direct code review and mentorship from a working engineer
- •Build a real, credible portfolio of shipped work, not just tutorials
Who we're looking for
People with strong fundamentals, a genuine ability to learn fast, and evidence they've actually built something, whether self-taught or bootcamp-trained. We care about what you can do, not just how you got here.
Requirements
- •At least 1 year of experience
- •A GitHub profile or link to something you've built or tested
- •Your name, LinkedIn URL, and email
- •A short recording telling us why you want to join
What you get
- •Real mentorship, a real network, and a track record you can point to
- •Strong performers may be offered a path to join the Makkan team, from Fellow toward Engineer and beyond
- •A paid stipend throughout the programme
- •A completion bonus at the end
